Prices keep going up.

As the New Year approaches, I want to thank all my customers who have purchased a pen and hope they enjoy using it as much as I did making it. I also wanted to share some thoughts on the realities of running a small business, particularly in the handcrafted pen industry. Like many other makers, I have been feeling the impact of rising costs across the board, and I’d like to give you a transparent look at the challenges we face.

Over the past year, the cost of raw materials has increased significantly. The high-quality woods, resins, and metals that go into crafting each of my pens are no exception to global price hikes. Postage rates continue to climb, making shipping more expensive for both businesses and customers. Essential tools of the trade, such as website hosting and Google advertising, have also seen price surges.

Even finishing materials, such as lacquer, polish, and the custom packaging that ensures your pens arrive beautifully presented, have become more costly. Add to this the ever-rising insurance premiums and payment processing fees, and it’s clear that small businesses like mine are being squeezed from every direction.

Despite these challenges, I’ve always been committed to delivering exceptional quality at an affordable price. When I compare my pens to others on platforms like Etsy, my prices are less than half of what similar (or often inferior) offerings cost. That’s not by accident—I’ve worked hard to keep my pens accessible while never compromising on craftsmanship or materials.

However, the current prices for my pens no longer cover the costs of making them, let alone leave room for a sustainable profit. To address this, I will be adjusting my pricing structure in the New Year. But before this change takes effect, I want to show my appreciation to all of you who have supported my work. That’s why I’m offering a New Year’s Sale: 10% off all purchases.

The sale will run from December 25th to December 30th, and it’s a great opportunity to grab one of my handcrafted pens at the current price. After the sale, new prices will reflect the increased costs of production. Rest assured, I will continue to deliver pens of unmatched quality, designed to delight and last a lifetime.

Thank you for your understanding and support as I navigate these changes. Your love for fine writing instruments inspires me to keep creating and innovating. Here’s to a new year filled with creativity, connection, and beautiful words written with pens that tell a story.
